Surah Ash-Sharh

Surah Ash-Sharh (The Consolation) is chapter 94 of the Holy Quran. It is a Meccan surah with 8 verses. Read the full surah below in Arabic with its translation.

Meccan8 Versesسُورَةُ الشَّرۡحِ

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Translation

94:1
أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ ١
Have We not uplifted your heart for you ˹O Prophet˺

وَوَضَعْنَا عَنكَ وِزْرَكَ ٢
relieved you of the burden

94:3
ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ ٣
which weighed so heavily on your back

وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ ٤
and elevated your renown for you

Fa Inna Ma'al Usri Yusra
فَإِنَّ مَعَ ٱلْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا ٥
So, surely with hardship comes ease

Inna Ma'al Usri Yusra
إِنَّ مَعَ ٱلْعُسْرِ يُسْرًۭا ٦
Surely with ˹that˺ hardship comes ˹more˺ ease

فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَٱنصَبْ ٧
So once you have fulfilled ˹your duty˺, strive ˹in devotion˺

وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَٱرْغَب ٨
turning to your Lord ˹alone˺ with hope
