Surah 102

Surah At-Takaathur

Surah At-Takaathur (Competition) is chapter 102 of the Holy Quran. It is a Meccan surah with 8 verses. Read the full surah below in Arabic with its translation.

Meccan8 Versesسُورَةُ التَّكَاثُرِ

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Translation
  1. 102:1

    أَلْهَىٰكُمُ ٱلتَّكَاثُرُ ١

    Competition for more ˹gains˺ diverts you ˹from Allah˺

  2. 102:2

    حَتَّىٰ زُرْتُمُ ٱلْمَقَابِرَ ٢

    until you end up in ˹your˺ graves

  3. 102:3

    كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ٣

    But no! You will soon come to know

  4. 102:4

    ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ٤

    Again, no! You will soon come to know

  5. 102:5

    كَلَّا لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عِلْمَ ٱلْيَقِينِ ٥

    Indeed, if you were to know ˹your fate˺ with certainty, ˹you would have acted differently˺

    لَتَرَوُنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ ٦

    ˹But˺ you will surely see the Hellfire

    ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيْنَ ٱلْيَقِينِ ٧

    Again, you will surely see it with the eye of certainty

    ثُمَّ لَتُسْـَٔلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ٨

    Then, on that Day, you will definitely be questioned about ˹your worldly˺ pleasures
